The makers of Kalki 2898 AD announced that Deepika Padukone would not be part of its sequel, citing the need for a higher level of commitment. This decision follows reports of her demanding an 8-hour work schedule. After her dramatic exit from Kalki Part 2, fans have claimed that her name has been removed from the credits of Kalki 2898 AD on certain OTT platforms.

Deepika played the pivotal role of Sumati in the 2023 blockbuster, which starred Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan. A fan shared a video supporting the claim, emphasizing that credits are a mark of acknowledgment, accountability, and respect for the work. They argued that even after months of OTT release, Deepika's name was missing, which they consider a breach of recognition.
