Police officer saves woman who began choking while driving in Chicago suburb

A woman who began choking while driving in a suburb of Chicago was saved by a Cook County Sheriff's Police officer.

As seen on a video shared by the sheriff's office, the woman pulled over in Ford Heights and got out of her car while chocking.

Cook County Sheriff's Office said one of their police officers, Zachary Finn, sprang into action to save the woman.

Finn pulled over when he saw the woman outside the vehicle.

"He performed the Heimlich maneuver, dislodging the item stuck in her throat," the sheriff's office said in a statement.

The video was captured by a camera at the intersection.

"Hats off to Officer Finn for his quick thinking and life-saving actions!" the sheriff's office post said.

The woman was seen by paramedics after and declined further medical treatment.
