Albany airport to raise parking rates for first time in five years

Albany, NY -- Albany International Airport announced an increase in daily parking rates starting January 1, 2025, marking the first adjustment in five years.

The new rates will be:

The short-term parking lot rate will remain unchanged at $24.00 per day.

The decision to adjust the parking rates was influenced by a study conducted by Walker Consultants, which was commissioned by the airport in October 2024. The study compared ALB's rates with those of similar-sized airports in New York and New England and found that ALB's rates had not kept pace with inflation or comparable facilities.

With nearly 3 million travelers passing through ALB annually, the study suggested that a modest increase in parking rates would help offset rising expenses and maintain a high-quality passenger experience. The additional revenue will support shuttle services, parking facility maintenance, and capital expenditures.

Steve Smith, Director of Communications at Albany International Airport, said,

Albany International Airport's parking facilities provide our passengers with some of the most accessible and convenient options, regardless of the length of their trip. We're confident the new rates will allow the airport to build upon its many successes and ensure passengers can continue to have a world-class airport that they can be proud of.

Passengers who parked their vehicles at the airport before January 1, 2025, but return after the rate increase, will be charged the original rate upon exiting the parking area.
