Colorado School of Mines. UCCS claim RMAC basketball tournament titles | Colorado Sunshine

Where the good news shines

For the third time in program history, the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers are Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men's basketball champions.

Behind Majok Deng's 23 points on Saturday, the Orediggers beat No. 2 seed Regis 92-64. Deng earned the tournament's MVP award.

Mines jumped out to a 30-6 lead and controlled the whole game and now will move on to the NCAA Division II Tournament.

On the women's side, Mya Wilson's jumper with 2.8 seconds remaining lifted No. 6 seed University of Colorado-Colorado Springs to a 63-61 victory against No. 1 seed Colorado Mesa to win its first tournament title in program history.

Amyah Moore Allen of UCCS was named tournament MVP.
