A chemist has backed a world-first expedition aiming to inspire young people and champion environmental conservation.
Wainwrights Chemist in Bishopstoke is sponsoring adventurer, author, and former soldier Jordan Wylie MBE on his Antarctic Odyssey 2025, a world-first expedition in Antarctica.
Mr Wylie plans to ski across a remote part of the continent, carrying all his supplies, to summit an unclimbed peak in the Heritage Range of the Ellsworth Mountains.
The challenge aims to raise £100,000 for the Army Cadet Charitable Trust UK (ACCT UK) and inspire young people to develop resilience and care for the environment.
Sultan 'SID' Dajani, pharmacist and owner of Wainwrights Chemist, said: "I've always called Jordan a real-life James Bond, licensed to thrill and using charity as his weapon of choice.
"His record-breaking, death-defying feats are well-documented, and as he takes a break from TV, he's once again pushing the limits of human endurance, even greater than before, for a fantastic cause."

Mr Dajani said the expedition is especially meaningful because of Mr Wylie's long-standing commitment to charity.
He said: "I know this expedition is more than just an adventure to Jordan; it's a mission to inspire young people to embrace challenges, push beyond perceived limits and highlight the need to protect our planet.
"For a local independent chemist, sponsoring and supporting Jordan is a natural fit - we both champion health and fitness, community spirit and make a positive impact for mental health."
Mr Wylie visited the Bishopstoke pharmacy for a health check on Saturday, October 25, as part of the launch of the partnership.

The two have known each other for years through mutual involvement in charity work and community initiatives.
A former British Army soldier, Mr Wylie is known for extreme challenges including rowing across the Atlantic and sailing around Africa.
He is also recognised as one of the Hunters on Channel 4's BAFTA-nominated Hunted and Celebrity Hunted.
The Antarctic Odyssey 2025 is being carried out in partnership with the charity 2041 Schools to promote environmental awareness and conservation of Antarctica.
