SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (KUTV) -- Halloween budgets look different for everyone this year. A study by WalletHub shows the average U.S. household is expected to spend $114.45 on Halloween expenses in 2025.
This includes decorations, treats, and costumes. That's about $13.1 billion between the 73% of households that celebrate.
The finance company analyzed many trends around Halloween.
When it comes to WalletHub's "Best Cities to Celebrate" list, Utah did not make the cut. The company ranked New York City, Jersey City, and Los Angeles as the top three cities for Halloween celebrations. They concluded after comparing factors like the number of trick-or-treaters, events, and weather.
The cities with the most trick-or-treaters are Laredo, Texas, followed by Bakersfield, California, and Fresno, California, according to the study.
