Fossil Or Fake? Man Finds 'Dinosaur Condom' Inside Rock! | Watch

Man cracks open rock hunting fossils, finds something shocking resembling a 'dinosaur condom'. Experts reveal the truth behind this viral discovery

In the age of viral content and social media surprises, a recent video has taken the internet by storm, this time for something both bizarre and oddly amusing. The footage shows a man splitting open a rock, apparently in search of fossils, only to reveal what appears to be a long, rubbery object inside.

Viewers were stunned and amused as the item bore a striking resemblance to a condom.

'Fossilised Condom' Discovery Leaves Internet In Splits

The man, seemingly fossil hunting along a riverbank or mountainous terrain, breaks open a particularly solid rock, uncovering a thin, elastic-looking structure. His shocked reaction quickly turns to laughter, and the video, once shared online, exploded in popularity.

Social media users quickly dubbed it the discovery of a "fossilised condom in a rock", with playful comments like, "Safety first... even in prehistoric times!" and "Was this a dinosaur's condom?"

The strange appearance of the object and the viral nature of the clip led to intense debate: Was this a legitimate archaeological find or a clever hoax generated by artificial intelligence?

Expert Explains: It's A Belemnite, Not A Condom

American palaeontologist Dr Allison Johnson weighed in on the viral video. Taking to Instagram, she clarified, "This isn't a condom, but the fossilised remains of an ancient marine animal known as a belemnite."

Belemnites were squid-like creatures from the Jurassic period, dating back around 200 million years. Their internal skeleton, known as a 'guard', is long, tapered, and often encased in rock.

When exposed, these fossils can easily be mistaken for modern rubbery objects due to their shape and texture.

Nature's Oddities Highlight Fossil Wonders

According to palaeontologists, such natural oddities are not unheard of. While this viral moment may have sparked laughter, it also sheds light on the curious and surprising world of palaeontology.

So, while the internet joked about ancient contraception, the reality is far more fascinating: a rare glimpse into Earth's prehistoric marine life.
