A RETIREMENT village in Cirencester is hosting its own cheese rolling event.
Aura Care Living's Stratton Court community will compete on a purpose-built ramp on Saturday, September 20.
Teams will be led by residents and judged on their prowess, speed and cheese rolling technique.
Stratton Court manager, Jared Mein said: "The event will also involve live music, great food, stalls, local cider and farm yard vibes."
Stratton Court director, Peter Lloyd, said: "We put it to the staff and residents what they wanted to do, something that represented Gloucestershire.
"I think it started off as a joke but it is now happening, and if I get selected, I am going to win."
The event is free and open to all.
There will also be a request for a small donation for Aura Care Living's charity of the year, Sue Ryder, which provides grief support and end-of-life care.
