Sometimes you have to try to find the silver lining. For the 2024 New York Jets, there have been few. However, some of their players have been productive and warrant praise.
One way that fans heap praise on players is via Pro Bowl votes. For the New York Jets, three players are currently in the top 10 across the league (both AFC and NFC) and can be thought of as reasonably likely to receive an eventual Pro Bowl nod.
Of the three, defensive tackle Quinnen Williams was probably among the most likely Jets to be in this position when the year starter. In the case of edge rusher Will McDonald, a second year breakout has seemingly put him firmly in the national spotlight, which is cool to see. The third, wide receiver Xavier Gipson, is being voted as a returner but is probably a longshot to make it given how few players are selected for that role and how far down the list he is; however, this is still impressive for an undrafted free agent.
From my evaluation, this list is mostly fair. I am surprised however to not see wide receiver Garrett Wilson racking up more votes given his strong stat line and the numerous jaw-dropping catches that he's managed to pull off this season. The only other player that I could see being viewed as a "snub" is guard John Simpson, who has the 10th highest PFF grade among guards.
What do you think? Should any other New York Jets be on this list?
