Here Is Every Movie Coming to Shudder in June 2025

Here Is Every Movie Coming to Shudder in June 2025

Shudder is the go-to streamer for horror aficionados. With a mix of acquired and original scary flicks, most fans are bound to find something to vibe with. Whether you prefer the supernatural, psychological horror, or something in between, Shudder is the place to be this June.

May brought several iconic titles, including Kevin Bacon's 1990 hit Tremors. June is keeping up the hot streak, with two huge James Wan/Leigh Whannell collabs making their way to the platform. There's also a pair of Shudder original movies. We don't typically think of summer as peak horror season. That's a time typically reserved for the fall. But Shudder's impressive upcoming collection shouldn't be slept on. In fact, you might not sleep at all after watching these movies.

'Dead Silence' Streaming June 1

Shudder kicks off the month with the first of their pair of James Wan/Leigh Whannell flicks. 2007's Dead Silence follows Jamie Ashen, who is arrested after his wife is mysteriously murdered. He's released due to a lack of evidence and returns to his hometown to search for answers. The name of "Mary Shaw," a local, deceased ventriloquist, seems to have a strange connection to Jamie's town and family. Throughout the movie, Jamie has several more encounters with the paranormal, including a truly horrifying twist ending.

Dead Silence stars Ryan Kwanten, Amber Valletta, Donnie Wahlberg, Bob Gunton, Keir Gilchrist, and Michael Fairman, among others. However, it wasn't exactly a hit with audiences or critics when it was initially released. The story, characters, and twist ending were criticized, and the film only reaped $22 million against a $20 million budget. Wan attributed some of the fault to his earlier work, Saw, as he believed audiences may have been expecting a similar story here. But in the years since, Dead Silence has developed a cult following among some more devoted fans. Maybe it can pick up a few more horror lovers when it hits Shudder on June 1.

As promised, here we have the second Wan/Whannell partnership to kick off the month. Insidious is arguably right up there with Saw in terms of iconic horror franchises. The original Insidious film follows Josh and Renai Lambert, who suspect their son Dalton has become a vessel for demonic entities. It spawned four sequels, all following the extended universe's characters and their paranormal experiences. While the original Insidious film earned positive critical reactions, its follow-ups have been more "meh." But they are box office hits, with the five flicks netting $732 million.

The first movie stars Patrick Wilson, Ty Simpkins, Rose Byrne, Angus Sampson, and Whannell, among others. Whannell and Sampson are the only names to appear in every movie in the franchise. It's hard to believe that this movie isn't already on Shudder, as well-known as it is. But those who've never checked Insidious out should mark their calendars for the first of June. Maybe do an Insidious/Dead Silence double feature.

The first Shudder original of the month, Best Wishes to All, appropriately drops on Friday the 13th. The Japanese horror flick hails from writer-director Yûta Shimotsu. There are few details, but the film's logline promises a spine-tingling experience.

"A young woman's visit to her grandparents' home leads to the discovery of what's brought them happiness, a revelation that will lead her to question her choices, sanity and reality itself."

But those who have seen it seem to agree on its terror. Best Wishes to All won the "Scariest Feature" award at the 2025 Overlook Film Festival. The cast includes Aine Hara, Kotone Furukawa, and Koya Matsuda. With a focus on the cyclical nature of Japanese culture and happiness, the trailer teases just some of what audiences can expect to see. Keep an eye out for Best Wishes to All when it drops on the unluckiest day of the month, Friday, June 13.

'Ash' (Shudder Original) Streaming June 20

Despite what the title hints at, this next original isn't related to either Evil Dead or Pokémon. Ash follows an astronaut (Riya) who awakens on a strange planet to discover that the rest of her crew is dead. With no memory of what happened, she must decide whether she can trust a man (Brion) who claims to know her and what happened to her crew.

Eiza González stars as Riya alongside Aaron Paul as Brion. Other stars include Beulah Koale, Iko Uwais, Kate Elliott, and Flying Lotus. Ash debuted at SXSW on March 11 and received a limited theatrical release beginning on March 21. Critics were kind, highlighting the impressive performances, visuals, and sound design. Shudder is set to be the exclusive streaming home for Ash beginning on Friday, June 20.

Keep an eye out for news of more horrifying releases. Viewers shouldn't discount the small screen either, as a new season of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs is also on deck for June.
