FARGO -- Fargo-Moorhead again had difficulty solving Chicago pitching, falling to the Dogs on Thursday before 2,486 at Newman Outdoor Field.

The Dogs scored a 4-0 win over the RedHawks in the first game of a doubleheader on Wednesday before F-M countered with a 4-1 win in the second game.

On Thursday, Chicago starter Brock Bell allowed four hits over five innings and three Dogs relievers came through with four no-hit innings.

Fargo-Moorhead's Dillon Thomas had a double for the RedHawks' only extra base hit.

The RedHawks open a series at Sioux City at 7:05 p.m. Friday, May 23.

OMAHA, Neb. -- No. 2 seed North Dakota State reached the Summit League Championship game with a win over No. 1 Oral Roberts on Thursday at Tal Anderson Field.

It was the Bison's second-straight tournament shutout. They defeated Omaha 1-0 in 10 innings in the opening round on Wednesday.

NDSU starter Logan Knight fired a three-hitter, walking three and striking out three.

The Bison scored a run in the first inning on Evan Gustafson's two-run single to right-center field, and Gustafson made it 3-0 in the third with a sacrifice fly. Blake Timmons followed with an RBI single.

NDSU's Colen Becker was 2-for-3.

Oral Roberts plays Omaha, a 7-6 winner in 10 innings over South Dakota State, in an elimination game at 4 p.m. Friday, May 23. The winner plays NDSU for the league title at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 24. A second game, if necessary, follows.

MOORHEAD -- Cayden Neuharth turned in a strong start as No. 1 seed Fargo Davies defeated No. 8 Fargo Shanley in an Eastern Region Tournament first round game at Concordia on Thursday.

Neuharth went six innings, allowing a run on five hits while striking out nine. Beckett Gigstad pitched the seventh, striking out one.

Davies' Gus Pankratz had a hit and an RBI and Caleb Christianson doubled. Shanley committed five errors, leading to four unearned runs.

Shanley's Eli Emineth had two hits and Quinn Miller had a hit and drove in a run. Landon Hale doubled.

Davies (23-5 overall) plays West Fargo (17-11) in a championship semifinal at 3 p.m. Friday at Young Field in West Fargo. Shanley (8-14) plays a consolation semifinal against Grand Forks Red River (14-9) at 11 a.m. Friday at Young Field.

WEST FARGO -- No. 4 seed West Fargo scored the go-ahead run in the fifth inning and edged No. 5 Grand Forks Red River in the first round of the East Region Tournament on Thursday.

The game was tied 2-2 through four innings but in the bottom of the fifth, Ashton Wigestrand singled with one out and Grayden Peterson was hit by a pitch. With two outs, Wigestrand stole third and scored on a Red River error.

Packers starter and winner Parker Hoff retired six of seven Roughriders in the sixth and seventh to end the game.

Hoff allowed one earned run on three hits in seven innings. He walked three and struck out nine.

Peterson doubled and drove in a run and Noah Betker had an RBI.

Red River pitcher Alex Seaver allowed one earned run on four hits in six innings. He walked two and struck out 10.

West Fargo (17-11) plays Fargo Davies (23-5) in a championship semifinal at 3 p.m. Friday at Young Field. Red River (14-9) plays a consolation semifinal against Fargo Shanley at 11 a.m. Friday.

HORACE -- No. 7 West Fargo Sheyenne scored five runs in the final two innings and upset No. 2 West Fargo Horace in an East Region Tournament game on Thursday.

Horace led 3-2 heading into the sixth inning but Sheyenne scored three runs in the top of the sixth and two more in the top of the seventh.

Mustangs reliever Landon Zink limited Horace to one hit and a walk over the final three innings to get the win. Zink struck out three.

Sheyenne's Jayce Burns was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Zink and Kaden Olson both had two hits and an RBI. Jordan Clemenson and Hudson Dinger both had hits and RBI and James Buffington had two RBI.

Horace's Austin Ohleen had a hit and two RBI, Evan Krogen had two hits and Cooper Fuchs had an RBI.

Sheyenne (15-11) plays Fargo South (15-10) in a championship semifinal at 5 p.m. Friday at Young Field. Horace (22-8) plays a consolation semifinal against Devils Lake (11-9) at 1 p.m. Friday.

FARGO -- Behind Caden Nelson's four-hitter, No. 3 Fargo South edged No. 6 Devils Lake in an East Region Tournament first round game on Thursday.

Nelson went all seven innings, walking two and striking out five. He outdueled DL's Benjamin Larson, who allowed a run on nine hits in six innings.

South scored the lone run in the bottom of the fifth. The first three Bruins -- Matt Bryant, Hunter Giere and Nelson -- all singled leading off to load the bases. Bryant was out at home on a fielder's choice but Tate Barnacle lifted a sacrifice fly to center to score Giere.

Giere and Nelson both had two hits.

Fargo South (15-10) plays West Fargo Sheyenne (15-11) in a championship semifinal at 5 p.m. Friday at Young Field. Devils Lake (11-9) plays West Fargo Horace (22-8) in a consolation semifinal at 1 p.m. Friday.

ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- Moorhead defeated Andover in a non-conference game played Thursday at the Municipal Athletic Complex.

The Spuds scored three runs in the bottom of the first and three more in the third. Starter Easton Groce went six innings, allowing two runs on six hits, to get the win. Ben Fredrickson pitched a scoreless seventh.

Moorhead's Brayden Kvamme had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Carson Heinsch, Carter Huotari and Austin Schwantz all had a hit and an RBI.

Moorhead is 6-9 overall and plays Fergus Falls in a doubleheader at 4 p.m. Friday, May 23, at Fergus Falls.

MOORHEAD -- An eight-run second inning propelled Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton to a Heart O'Lakes Conference victory over Barnesville on Thursday at Concordia.

DGF's Cayson Bergee had a hit and three RBI and Jace Baumgartner doubled twice and drove in two runs. Camden Schreiber had two hits and an RBI, and Alex Anderson and Dylan Anderson both had hits and RBI. Zander Deutsch had two hits.

Dylan Anderson went all five innings, allowing an unearned run on five hits. He walked one and struck out four.

MOORHEAD -- Perham took the lead on Alex Blume's two-run home run in the top of the seventh and the Yellowjackets held off Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in a Heart O'Lakes Conference game on Friday.

The Rebels led 2-1 through six but Perham's Seth Urbach led off the seventh with a walk and Blume followed with a homer to left field.

Perham reliever Drew Ellingson surrendered a pair of two-out walks in the bottom of the seventh but got a strikeout to end the game.

DGF's Alex Anderson was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Wes Hoover had two hits and an RBI.

Perham snapped DGF's 13-game winning streak and the Yellowjackets are now 12-0 in the conference and 16-1 overall. DGF is 10-1 in the conference and 14-2 overall.

FARGO -- No. 1 seed Fargo North held off No. 8 Grand Forks Central on Thursday in the first round of the East Region Tournament.

North led 10-6 through five innings but Central rallied with four runs in the sixth to pull closer. North reliever Jada Purdy set Central down in order in the seventh to end the game.

The Spartans' Olivia Kalbus was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two runs batted in. Brooklyn Woodard was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI, and Aubrey King and Ainsley Ness both had hits and RBI. Sonja Gorder had two hits.

North (15-4 overall) plays a championship semifinal game against West Fargo (12-17) at 4 p.m. Friday at Mickelson Field in Fargo. Central (5-16) plays West Fargo Sheyenne (11-12) in a consolation semifinal at 11 a.m. Friday at Mickelson

WEST FARGO -- No. 5 seed West Fargo overcame a five-run deficit with 10 runs in the fifth inning and defeated No. 4 West Fargo Sheyenne in the first round of the East Region Tournament on Thursday.

West Fargo's Brooklyn Williams and Brynlee Rheault both had three hits and drove in three runs. Grace Vetter had two hits and two RBI, Katelyn Kackman had a hit and an RBI and Claire Osland and Gretchen Klein both had two hits.

Sheyenne's Alivia Warren was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI, and Madison Aadland and Afton Stokka both had two hits and an RBI. Lauren Hemberger had two hits.

West Fargo (12-17) plays a championship semifinal against Fargo North (15-4) at 4 p.m. Friday at Mickelson Field in Fargo. Sheyenne (11-12) plays Grand Forks Central (5-16) in a consolation semifinal at 11 a.m. Friday.

HORACE -- No. 3 West Fargo Horace scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning against No. 6 Fargo Shanley in an East Region Tournament first-round game on Thursday.

Tied 2-2 through 7-1/2 innings, Horace's Braelyn Brown doubled with two outs and Austi Brandt followed with an infield single. Brown scored on an error on the play to end the game.

Brown was 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI, and Brandt had two hits and an RBI.

Hawks pitcher McKenna Mohs went all eight innings, allowing two runs on six hits.

Shanley's Kendall Kueneman doubled and drove in a run and Emmalise Ovsak had two hits. Pitcher Taelyn Card allowed two earned runs on eight hits in 7-2/3 innings. She didn't issue a walk and struck out nine.

Horace (16-6) plays Grand Forks Red River (14-9) in a championship semifinal 30 minutes after Friday's 4 p.m. semifinal. Shanley (5-9) plays a consolation semifinal against Fargo Davies 30 minutes after Friday's 11 a.m. consolation semifinal.

ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- The No. 4 seed St. Cloud Crush defeated No. 5 Moorhead in the second round of the Section 8-4A tournament on Thursday.

Moorhead's Madden Bogenreif was 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Taylor Kressin and Kenadi Kays both doubled and drove in runs. Kellsey Kludt had a hit and an RBI, and Payton Babolian was 2-for-3.

GLYNDON -- Autumn Leach fired a four-hitter, leading No. 1 seed Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton to a win over No. 7 Park Rapids in the second round of the Section 8-2A tournament on Thursday.

Leach went six innings, walking one and striking out 11. Park Rapids committed four errors, leading to seven unearned runs.

DGF's Katie Kittelson was 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBI, and Ellie Boyd doubled and drove in two runs.

GLYNDON -- Karlee Walsh was 2-for-3 from the plate, knocking in both runs, and pitched a complete game to lead No. 6 seed East Grand Forks to the upset over No. 1 seed Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in the third round of the Section 8-2A tournament on Thursday.

Autumn Leach tossed a complete game for DGF, striking out 11 Green Wave batters in the loss. East Grand Forks scored single runs in the top of the first and sixth innings, before the Rebels cut the lead in half with an RBI single by Karlie Wagner in the bottom of the seventh.

Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton will now take on Wadena-Deer-Creek on Tuesday, May 27.

FARGO - Davies and Shanley finished out the Eastern Dakota Conference regular season with a 1-1 tie Thursday.

Bre Larson scored the goal for Davies, while Shanley's goal was scored by Nora Roney.

Nora Benson had 10 saves for Davies and Ashland Roach stopped eight shots for Shanley.

Davies finished the regular season at 10-2-2 in EDC points and overall; Shanley was 7-3-4 in EDC points and overall.

WEST FARGO - West Fargo Sheyenne defeated West Fargo in an Eastern Dakota Conference game on Thursday.

West Fargo Sheyenne finished the season at 4-8-2 in EDC points and overall; West Fargo was 0-14-0 in EDC points and overall.

FARGO - Fargo North edged Fargo South in an Eastern Dakota Conference game on Thursday.

Fargo North finished the season at 5-8-1 in EDC points and overall; Fargo South was 3-9-2 in EDC points and overall.
