'Require Screen On' Setting Launches The Camera App Even...

You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly.

You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. I set my iPhone 17 Pro Max Camera Control (Settings > Camera > Camera Control) to launch the Apple Camera app with a double click, but only when the screen is on (by toggling on the setting 'Require Screen On').

However, even when the display is asleep (by pressing the top right button for instance to turn off the display), the Camera app launches with a double click of the camera Control button.

If I set the Camera Control to launch the camera with a single click, then with the display asleep, a single click just wakes it. But I don't want to use a single click, and in any case, if I understand these controls correctly, that shouldn't happen anyway.

Is this a bug or do I have a problem unit?

Can anyone else tell me what happens with theirs, with the settings configured as I describe?
