Intermittent showers to persist until 7th, obscuring full moon in central regions
Rain is expected across the country on the 6th, Chuseok. The central regions will not be able to see the full moon, while faint moonlight may be visible through the clouds in the southern regions and Jeju.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, rain is expected across the country from the 6th to the 7th due to the influence of a low-pressure trough moving from near the Shandong Peninsula in China toward the West Sea, Yellow Sea.
The expected precipitation from the 6th to the 7th is forecasted as follows: 10~40 mm in Seoul and Gyeonggi, 20~60 mm in Incheon, 10~40 mm in Gangwon and Chungcheong, 5~30 mm in North Jeolla, 5~10 mm in Gwangju and South Jeolla, 5~10 mm in Daegu and North Gyeongsang, and 5 mm in Busan, Ulsan, South Gyeongsang, and Jeju.
On the 6th, the entire country will be mostly cloudy with intermittent rain. Some areas in the southern regions and Jeju may see a lull in the rain. Consequently, the full moon is expected to be observable only in the southern regions and Jeju.
The moonrise times on the 6th in major cities are expected to be as follows: 5:32 p.m. in Seoul, 5:24 p.m. in Gangneung, 5:30 p.m. in Daejeon, 5:26 p.m. in Daegu, 5:24 p.m. in Busan, 5:33 p.m. in Gwangju, and 5:35 p.m. in Jeju.
On the 8th, the entire country will be mostly cloudy as it comes under the periphery of a high-pressure system. Rain is expected in eastern Gangwon on the 9th, which will also be mostly cloudy.
Rain is forecasted for eastern Gangwon on the 10th and for the capital region and Gangwon Province on the 11th. From Sunday the 12th to the 15th, the country is expected to have mostly cloudy skies with no rain.
