This is the moment lightning lit up the sky as bolts struck parts of Huddersfield near the Ainley Top transmitter.
The Greetland photographer spotted the bright white bolts flickering across the landscape. The video footage shows two consecutive strikes of lightning, while rumbles of thunder can be heard in the distance.
The lightning is likely the result of the heavy rain that Huddersfield experienced earlier today (Monday, August 8). The Met Office indicated that rain was as heavy as 32mm per hour between 5pm and 6pm.
Thankfully, this only lasted a short while before tapering off into a "dry but cold" evening.
In the latest update about Huddersfield's weather forecast, The Met Office website said: "A fine evening and night, with temperatures dipping under lasting clear spells. Becoming chilly, with a ground frost possible in rural parts, and some mist and fog patches in places by dawn."
