Auburn football is two days away from its home opener against Ball State.
Currently sitting as a 43.5-point favorite in the game, Auburn coach Hugh Freeze is not taking the matchup lightly.
The Cardinals limited Purdue to 93 rushing yards in last week's 31-0 loss to the Boilermakers and finished with five tackles for loss. However, Freeze has focused his scouting on their secondary as Auburn plans to open up its passing game this week.
"They're a base out of a quarters team, which most quarters' teams, safeties are active in the fit. And their safeties are physical guys that you would expect them to be at least a semblance of who they are." Freeze said Thursday. "I don't know that they're going to change that. But they could, obviously, play one-high or do different things that we'll have to get in."
Auburn passed for just 108 yards last week against Baylor. Meanwhile, the Tigers put on a clinic in the ground game, rushing for 307 yards to defeat the Bears 38-24 in their season opener.
Kickoff for Auburn and Ball State is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPNU.
