DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The local Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority chapter held a mental health summit in Trotwood on Saturday.
The "Rise, Reclaim...& Rejuvenate!" summit ran from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. inside of Trotwood-Madison Middle School. It was hosted by the Tau Lambda Omega Chapter from Trotwood.
"This summit is a call to action for our community to pause, reflect, and prioritize their mental and emotional well-being," said Marchelle Lumpkin-Mucha, President of Tau Lambda Omega Chapter. "We are proud to bring this supportive and affirming experience to our community and uplift the lives of our neighbors."
The free event featured a conversation on emotional wellness and resilience led by Jackie Davis-Betserai, who's a committee member for the Great Lakes Region of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
Yogi Yamika Leeper-Stephens led mindfulness practices and wellness activities.
Andrew Randle gave fitness and wellness coaching.
