The Philadelphia Phillies are now winners of nine in a row after a 9-6 win over the Athletics in 11 innings on Saturday. The Phillies scored a run in the top of the ninth to tie it up, and they then scored three in the top of the 11th inning to get the win in Sacramento.

It was another big game for Kyle Schwarber, who finished 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs scored and the go-ahead two-run double in the 11th.

Schwarber now has 40 RBI and 18 home runs, which puts up atop the leaderboard alongside New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge.

As such, fans wasted no time and called for Schwarber to win the MVP award.

"MVP Kyle Schwarber don't sound too bad," one fan said. "9 straight wins for the Phillies. More importantly another series win. KYLE SCHWARBER FOR MVP!!!" said another.

"Schwarber could for real win an MVP this season," another wrote. "Kyle Schwarber!!!!! The MVP," wrote another.

It's a strong case already as well. Schwarber leads the Phillies in home runs, RBI, walks, OPS and slugging percentage. On top of that, the Phillies are now 34-18 and have a three-game lead over the New York Mets in the NL East as well as the current best record in baseball.

So, while Shohei Ohtani and Fernando Tatis Jr. are also having strong seasons Schwarber's name should be right in the thick of that conversation.
