Union Minister Jitendra Singh says India is now shaping global science and innovation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision ahead of the ESTIC 2025 conclave
Union Minister for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh said on Tuesday that India now stands as a global leader in science and innovation, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's foresight for elevating the nation's international scientific stature ahead of the upcoming Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC 2025).
In a video message released ahead of the event, Singh declared that India has transitioned from being a follower to becoming a confident leader on the world stage, shaping the future of scientific and technological advancement.
"As the ESTIC 2025 approaches, India today stands not as a follower, but as a leader, confident in its capabilities, assertive in its vision, and resolute in shaping the future of science and innovation across the globe," Singh said in the message shared on the social media platform X.
He described the flagship event as "a declaration of India's command over knowledge and ideas and its ability to transform vision into global influence," calling it a milestone in the nation's scientific trajectory.
Singh attributed this transformation to the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, stating that India's scientific journey has evolved into a force that "inspires the world". The minister said that under Modi's guidance, India's technological progress has moved beyond domestic aspirations to influence global innovation and collaboration.
"Guided by the foresight of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India's scientific and technological journey has evolved into a force that inspires the world," he said.
Scheduled for 3 to 5 November 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, ESTIC 2025 will feature three days of plenary sessions, technical discussions and exhibitions, bringing together international scientists, policymakers and innovators.
Singh said the conclave aims to unite Nobel laureates, industry leaders, young innovators, women entrepreneurs and emerging science leaders, describing it as a "convergence of brilliance ready to define the next frontiers of science and technological innovation."
He added that the conclave will reaffirm India's position at the forefront of global science through groundbreaking research and collaboration.
"ESTIC 2025 is the spark that ignites ambition, the arena where intellect meets enterprise, and where the future of Viksit Bharat 2047 begins to take shape," he said, referring to the government's vision of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.
The minister called on the country's scientific community to seize the moment with courage and vision. "Let us show the world that India lives not only in ideas, but also in the power to realise them," he said.
ESTIC 2025, India's flagship science and technology conclave, is themed Imagine, Innovate, Inspire for Viksit Bharat 2047. It seeks to strengthen collaboration across India's innovation ecosystem and promote cross-sector engagement between research institutions, government agencies and private enterprises.
The conclave will feature 11 thematic sessions covering a wide spectrum of emerging sectors, including Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, Bio-Manufacturing, Blue Economy, Digital Communications, Electronics and Semiconductor Manufacturing, Emerging Agricultural Technologies, Energy-Environment-Climate, Health and Medical Technologies, Quantum Science and Technology, and Space Technologies.
Curtain raiser events hosted by various ministries are already underway to set the stage for detailed discussions at the conclave.
Organised by the Department of Science and Technology under the guidance of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser, ESTIC 2025 is a joint initiative involving key scientific and research bodies. These include the Department of Atomic Energy, Ministry of Ayush, Department of Biotechnology, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Defence Research and Development Organisation, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Indian Council of Medical Research, Department of Space and Department of Telecommunications.
Singh's statement positions the conclave not merely as a national event, but as a platform signalling India's growing confidence and influence in global science and technology.
