A children's hospice recently hosted its first-ever prom night.

Robin House, based in Balloch, held the event for young people with life-shortening conditions, giving them a chance to experience the excitement and glamour of a prom.

Many of the children would be unable to attend such an event otherwise due to their complex health needs.

The day began with a morning workshop where families created corsages and buttonholes to match the children's prom outfits.

In the afternoon, the hospice was transformed into a hair and beauty salon, with local hairdressers and make-up artists volunteering their time to add a touch of glamour to the occasion.

Glitzparty provided a special glitter bar for the occasion, while Andy Duncan was on hand to offer creative balloon making.

The balloon backdrop was supplied by Create a Creations, and music was provided by Steven Gracious Parties.

A red carpet was rolled out to give each child a special entrance.

Families were also treated to a sit-down buffet prepared by the Robin House catering team, with food donated by Aldi.

The prom was a huge success, with families providing feedback afterwards that they had "made lots of magical memories".

Alison Ringrose, activities facilitator at Robin House and one of the organisers, said: "We feel so proud to have helped our families enjoy this experience and create lasting memories, filled with love and laughter.

"We are incredibly grateful to all the local hair and make-up artists who gave up their time to help the children and their families feel special on the night.

"Thanks must also go to all the other businesses who provided their services to help make this prom such a huge success and to Aldi for supplying such delicious food and tasty treats.
