WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- Wichita residents will soon be following a new year-round watering schedule as part of the city's permanent water-wise conservation plan.
The city will host an informational session and community Q&A on Monday, Sept. 8, at 6 p.m. in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 455 N. Main. City staff will present details of the plan, followed by a public question-and-answer session beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The new schedule, which takes effect Sept. 15, sets watering days based on street address numbers. Homes and businesses with addresses ending in odd numbers may water on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, while those ending in even numbers may water on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Watering is not allowed on Mondays.
City officials say the changes are designed to promote long-term water conservation while ensuring fairness and consistency across neighborhoods.
