The Plot of 'One Piece' Season 2, Explained
The second season of One Piece will see the Straw Hat crew head for the Grand Line, the treacherous sea that contains exotic locations and powerful new enemies. For all intents and purposes, this is when the real adventure begins, as longtime fans often consider the arcs that take place beforehand to be an extended prologue. The Straw Hat Pirates will be visiting Loguetown, Little Garden, Whiskey Peak, and Drum Island, the last of which will likely cap off the season. The human-esque reindeer Tony Tony Chopper will be making his grand entrance on Drum Island, a wintertime location under the rule of Wapol (Rob Colletti).
The events of One Piece Season 2 will lead directly into Season 3, which is reportedly already in development. Everything in the second season sets up the Alabasta Arc, named after a desert kingdom that is being usurped by the clandestine criminal organization Baroque Works. The Straw Hats will be meeting select members of the syndicate, including, but not limited to, Mr. 3 (David Dastmalchian), Miss All Sunday (Lera Abova), and Miss Wednesday (Charithra Chandran). The major villain that will likely be teased throughout One Piece Season 2 is Mr. 0 aka Crocodile (Joe Manganiello), a formidable foe that will eventually push Monkey D. Luffy to his limits.
