Correct me if I'm wrong, but when we were younger, none of us thought that the idea of living in school was fun, until we were introduced to the Harry Potter books and Hogwarts as a school.
I knew about boarding schools before I got into Harry Potter, but they never really appeared appealing to me. Even though I thought it might be cool to share a room with my friends and spend some time away from my parents, I always knew that living at school had more cons than pros. For instance, everyone knew that the food at these boarding schools was awful, and the thought of having a teacher wake me up every morning to ensure I get to class on time made my skin crawl.
However, all of that flew right out of the window when I learned about Hogwarts, and I knew there was nothing that could deter me from dreaming about boarding there. No trolls in the dungeons, Chambers of secrets, or evil wizards would have convinced me it's not the greatest place to live in.
