A classic fairytale is set to return to the stage with a bold, 90s-inspired twist.
The Snow Queen, reimagined as a "grunge-fuelled fairytale" by director Alexandra Jenkins, will run at the Unicorn Theatre in Abingdon.
Based on Hans Christian Andersen's original story and adapted by Ron Nicol, the production blends immersive storytelling with a darker, edgier aesthetic.
Alexandra Jenkins, director of the show, said: "This is no ordinary pantomime.
"It's a magical, mysterious, and emotionally charged journey.
"We break the fourth wall, we play with the audience, and we lean into the darker truths of the story.
"It's a show for the young, the old, and everyone in between."
The production includes nine original songs and a full soundscape created by musical director Darren Fellerdale.
Featuring a cast of more than 20 actors in over 30 roles, the show promises ensemble storytelling, theatrical spectacle, and a strong emotional core.
Audience members can expect striking costumes, immersive technical effects, and moments of laughter and longing.
Theatre-goers can expect a show that is both haunting and heartwarming.
Tickets are available from The Bookstore in Bury Street, for £15 and £12 for concessions.
The show will run from January 15-24, with a range of evening and matinee shows.
