NASA Just Activated the Earth Defense Force Ahead of 3I/Atlas Arrival

Some say that the large interstellar object is an alien spacecraft barreling toward Earth, others say it is a comet, while others say it is an absolute large psychological operation used to gin up fear over an impending alien invasion coming to Earth.

NASA just activated its Earth Defense Group over possible concerns, of a Manhattan-sized comet with possible alien technology. 56 nations have signed the US-led Artemis Accords to conduct future space exploration, mining, tourism, etc. Why is NASA activating an Earth defense group over this comet?
