Martin Brundle was up to his old tricks on Sunday afternoon as he walked up and down the F1 grid in Singapore.
Brundle thought he had spotted Scottish singer and songwriter Lewis Capaldi and approached the man. However, after calling over "Lewis", Brundle quickly realised it was a case of mistaken identity when the actual Capaldi appeared behind him.
However, the cringe of the interview had only just got started when Capaldi went for a handshake at the end - only to be snubbed by Brundle who was already looking for his next interviewee.
"Not Martin Brundle calling Lewis Capaldi's brother Lewis and then missing Lewis Capaldi's handshake as well," one fan joked on social media.
"Martin Brundle just had a shocker there...firstly mistaking Lewis Capaldi's brother as Lewis Capaldi. Then leaving Lewis Capaldi hanging for a handshake when he later joined," a second said.
"Lewis Capaldi took it well, a Martin Brundle grid walk at his best," a third shared. While a third posted: "God I love a Martin Brundle grid walk!"
And another added: "Martin Brundle gives me so much second hand embarrassment! Omg he makes me physically cringe..."
It was another disappointing session for Lewis Hamilton, who was looking to get something out of the backend of the season for Ferrari.
"Q1, the car and tyres were feeling good but Q2 run one was fairly decent but then we are the last in the queue often and losing a lot of temperature in the tyres and every time we do that we fall further and further back.
"It happens every single weekend," said Hamilton, who is starting sixth on the grid.
"The guys on pole went out quicker with less waiting in the pit lane. It's an area we can improve on."
