The defending 2A champion TCA Titans have a reputation to uphold

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - "We want to leave no doubt from last season. We're working our tails off to prove to everyone were the same team, same effort, same everything," said TCA senior linebacker and offensive lineman Caden Sanchez.

"Right off the bat the first weights we all wanted it we are coming off the mountain now we're starting to summit again," said senior running back Jackson Schipfer.

Leave no doubt. That's the titan's motto this season.

Defending state champions, yes. But this group says they still have more to prove. A reputation to uphold.

"A lot of people think it will be a rebuilding season cause we lost 20 something seniors but we're filling those shoes," Sanchez says.

The titans have a new quarterback for the first time in three years.

"We've been blessed Smetty [Jackson Smetana] has been around the program four years he was just unfortunately behind a really good player," said head coach Justin Rich.

That player was Andrew Brown. Now that's he's graduated, senior QB Jackson Smetana takes over under center.

"Smetty is great. He works his tail off every year can throw the ball run the ball he's a workaholic," Shipfer said.

When TCA opened their season at Eaton last week the Titans found themselves playing from behind quickly but got right back up to score 28 points straight and win the game.

"For his first actual start to go 200 yards two touchdown passes I think that's the best season opening start a QB we've ever had," said Coach Rich.
