Governor Greg Abbott's office says there are no plans to send Texas National Guard troops to Chicago.

In a Tuesday press conference, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker claimed without evidence that Texas troops were about to be deployed to his state as part of President Donald Trump's law and order crackdown. When reporters asked Pritzker where he was getting his information, the billionaire Democrat had no further comment.

On Tuesday afternoon, a spokesman for Abbott's office said Texas isn't preparing to send troops to Illinois.
