Football Association of Malawi (FAM) says there will be no ticket sales on match day for the Flames' 2026 Fifa World Cup Qualifier against Liberia at Bingu National Stadium (BNS) in Lilongwe on September 8.
According to FAM competitions and communications director Gomezgani Zakazaka, the arrangement is meant to avoid unnecessary pressure on the match day.
"This is the approach we have taken. We want football lovers to just enter the stadium without unnecessary pressure on the match-day. We believe this is the best practice we should stick to going forward," he said.
Zakazaka said a similar arrangement worked well ahead of the recent Airtel Top 8 final.
Tickets are being sold at various designated physical shops in Lilongwe and online on www.kwenda.co or by dialing *495#.
The Malawi National Football Team will face Namibia away in Francistown, Botswana this Friday before the Liberia match on Monday.
The Flames are currently camping in Lilongwe with head coach Kalisto Pasuwa being satisfied with the progress of preparations for the two games.
He called into camp 26 players, including 16 foreign-based players such as Mayele Malango of USA's Monterey Bay FC, who has earned his maiden call-up.
Other notable players on the list are Mozambique-based forwards Richard Mbulu and Lloyd Njaliwa, Zambia-based striker Chawanangwa Kaonga and midfielder Robert Saizi.
USA-based striker Henri Kumwenda has also been included.
