The Mayor of Kingston, Andrew Swaby says the KSAMC will be taking steps to tighten its compliance processes and procedures where building permits are concerned.
This follows a report from the Integrity Commission alleging breaches of the building approval process at a development on Weycliffe Drive in St. Andrew.
The development is owned by Estatebridge Holdings.
Andrew Swaby, Mayor of Kingston and St. Andrew.
The KSAMC, has alleged that Estatebridge was in breach of an approved building permit.
According to the KSAMC, the breaches observed at the property on an October 31 site visit include a slight increase in the floor area of the basement, with the laundry area being reconfigured to accommodate bathroom and storage.
The KSAMC also found that a dining room on the ground floor was extended, a bathroom was constructed, and a powder room converted to storage.
Despite these adjustments, the floor area of the ground floor was found to be largely unchanged.
Alterations were also noted on the first floor of the property.
