There is a bit of hope that Bronny James may be starting to turn the corner in his nascent pro basketball career. After a bunch of weak performances dating back to summer league play, he exploded for 30 points on 13-of-23 field-goal shooting this past Thursday.

In the coming days, the annual G League Winter Showcase will be held in Orlando, Fla., which will give players an opportunity to show off their abilities and perhaps earn a call-up from an NBA team. That includes James, who will reportedly participate in the event.

As part of the showcase, South Bay will face the Greensboro Swarm on Thursday and the Osceola Magic two days later. However, since it finished last in the West with a 4-10 record during the tip-off portion of the season, it will not take part in the actual tournament portion of the showcase.

Once the showcase has ended, South Bay will visit the Cleveland Charge on Dec. 27 to begin its regular season.
