PETERSBURG -- A toy giveaway is happening in Petersburg from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14. The Holiday Toy Giveaway event is organized and hosted by Lending Helping Hands, a local nonprofit.

"We're grateful to all who donate and for our community partners who work together with one mission in mind ... bless the kids," LaVerle Talley, Lending Helping Hands founder and executive director said.

Only children who reside in Petersburg may participate. No preregistration is needed, but the children must be present inside the building at Club 17, Inc. located at 118½ Mars St. in Petersburg.

"This will be our biggest event ever," Talley said. "We are preparing for over 500 kids to receive 1,500 toys."
