New Delhi: Television actor Ashish Kapoor, who has been arrested on charges of an alleged rape, underwent a medical potency test at AIIMS here on Friday.
The reports will be used as 'crucial evidence' against the actor in the rape case, said Delhi Police.
Ashish, who was on the run for three weeks, was traced and arrested in Pune for allegedly raping a 24-year-old woman during a house party in the Delhi Civil Lines area on August 10.
"The team has been looking for him. He was earlier traced to Goa, but when the team reached, he slipped away. He was then traced to Pune, where he was found living with a friend and was arrested on Tuesday," a senior police officer was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
The victim filed a case with the Delhi Civil Lines Police in the early hours of August 11.
"In her complaint, she said that she was at home on Sunday when she received a call from her friend who invited her to a party at the house of an acquaintance in Civil Lines," said an officer.
In her complaint, the woman claimed that she began feeling disoriented after consuming alcohol at a friend's house party.
She alleged that four men including the actor took her to a washroom and gang-raped her while recording the incident.
The accused also threatened to make the video viral if she disclosed the incident to anyone.
Based on the victim's complaint, an FIR was registered under section 64 (punishment for rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Civil Lines police station on August 11.
Ashish has featured in popular sitcoms such as 'Saraswatichandra', 'Love Marriage Ya Arranged Marriage', 'Chand Chupa Badal Mein', 'Dekha Ek Khwaab', 'Molkki Rishton Ki Agnipariksha', 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai', 'Woh Apna Sa', and 'Bandini'.
