In the month of March, 52 Health Cluster partners reached 752,293 people with humanitarian health services through 949 health facilities in 315 districts of all 34 provinces.

As of March 25, 2025, a total of 202 health facilities have been suspended or closed by humanitarian partners due to the funding termination. This disruption is expected to affect approximately 1.8 million people across 28 of Afghanistan's 34 provinces. The suspended health facilities include 108 Mobile Health and Nutrition Teams (MHNTs), 33 Family Health Houses (FHHs), 20 Basic Health Centers (BHCs), 22 Sub-Health Centers (SHCs), and 19 other health facility types. It is important to note that the number of suspended or closed health facilities may vary every week depending on the availability of funding to humanitarian partners. The Health Cluster calls on donors to urgently support the reinstatement of critical healthcare services and prevent further deterioration of the health situation in Afghanistan

During the month of March, the summary of outbreaks includes: 7,128 cases of AWD with dehydration, 139,226 cases of ARI-Pneumonia, 12,535 cases of Measles, 18 cases of Dengue fever, 794 cases of Malaria, and 29 cases of CCHF.

During the month of March, a total of 139,226 ARI/pneumonia cases and 309 associated deaths were reported (CFR of 0.2%). This represents 18.9% decrease in reported cases compared to the previous month. Of the total cases

During the month of March, 12,535 new suspected measles cases were reported, resulting in 82 deaths. This shows a 42.8% increase in the number of cases compared to the previous month (8,776).

During the month of March, 794 new suspected malaria cases were reported, with zero deaths. This shows a 10% increase in the number of cases compared to the previous month (716).

In March 2025, WHO provided 349 emergency medical kits to 38 health facilities in 23 provinces. The medical kits will benefit around 324,900 individuals in the next three months.
