The University of Arkansas softball team forced a deciding Game 3 in the NCAA Fayetteville Super Regional with a 4-0 victory over Mississippi on Saturday night at Bogle Park in Fayetteville.
The teams will meet Sunday at 4 p.m. with the winner advancing their program's first Women's College World Series.
On Saturday, Arkansas (44-13) scored twice in the first inning on an RBI groundout by Kailey Wyckoff and a two-out RBI single by Ella McDowell.
In the fourth inning, Wyckoff reached on an error by Ole Miss second baseman Mackenzie Pickens, followed by a throwing error by right fielder Lair Beautae that allowed Courtney Day and Bri Ellis to score for the Razorbacks.
Payton Burnham (16-2) pitched a complete-game shutout, holding Ole Miss (41-20) to 3 hits with 7 strikeouts and 1 walk.
