It's a day celebrated throughout the five boroughs every fall: Marathon day.
The 2025 TCS New York City Marathon returns on Sunday, and we have everything you need to know -- whether you're running in the race, cheering from the sidelines, or are looking to avoid any traffic headaches.
The 26.2-mile New York City marathon will take place Sunday, Nov. 2 at 8 a.m.
Everyone who entered the non-guaranteed entry drawing for the race, whether they were accepted or not, was scheduled to be notified on March 5.
See below for a map of the marathon. The race starts in Staten Island, winds through Brooklyn and then into Long Island City before crossing the Queensboro Bridge to Manhattan.
From there, runners head up First Avenue into the Bronx, then cross back over the Harlem River for the final five miles of the race, which concludes in Central Park.
There will be many street and bridge closures in effect across the city starting at 7 a.m. Sunday, stretching at least until 4 p.m.
