NEWPORT -- Trevion Greer rushed for 247 yards and three touchdowns, including scoring runs of 61 and 88 yards, as Newport (1-0) cruised to a win over Marked Tree (0-1).

Luke Reynolds ran for a touchdown and threw for another, connecting with Dayrin Braxton on a 41-yard play in the second quarter.

Dontavious White accounted for Marked Tree's only touchdown with a 43-yard reception from CJ Williams.
