Authorities have identified a man who was fatally struck by a tractor-trailer last month on Interstate 59 in Greene County.

Alabama state troopers say Amone R. Moore, 32, of Independence, Louisiana, died Feb. 23 when he was struck by a 2020 Freightliner Cascadia driven by Laron T. Walton, 44, of Hiram, Georgia.

The incident occurred at 12:05 a.m. on I-59 near the 37 mile marker about three miles south of Eutaw, according to a release from Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Highway Patrol Division.

Troopers said Moore was in the roadway at the time of the crash. His body was taken to a Department of Forensic Science facility, where his identity was confirmed.

State troopers continue to investigate the incident.
