After a frustrating end to a 90-88 loss against the New York Liberty on Saturday, the Indiana Fever (2-2) hit the road for today's game as they take on former Hawkeyes star Lucy Olsen and the Washington Mystics (2-3). In order to accommodate the massive Fever following, today's game has been moved from Washington, DC's 4,200-seat CareFirst Arena to the 11,614-seat CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, MD.
Indiana will be without Caitlin Clark for today's game as she was diagnosed with a left quadriceps strain on Monday that will sideline the star point guard for at least two weeks. Before Clark's injury, she was averaging 19.0 points, 9.3 assists, 6.0 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game on 40.3% from the field, 31.4% from 3-point range, and 75.0% from the free-throw line.
The Mystics are coming off their third consecutive loss, which occurred on their three-game West Coast trip against the Golden State Valkyries, Las Vegas Aces, and Phoenix Mercury. The Mystics are led by Brittany Sykes, who averages 22.3 points on 35.4% from the field, 29.4% from 3-point territory, and 80.9% from the charity stripe. Overall, the Mystics average 78.4 points per game through their first five games.
