LONDON, Ky. (WKYT) - A lot of cleaning up is underway in parts of London.
A popular ladies' clothing store was damaged.
Paperdolls' Ladies Boutique and part of Copper Penny's roofs on Main Street were blown off.
"Luckily there were no customers in my store; it was just myself and my bookkeeper Julie. We noticed the sky getting really really dark," said Judy House of Paperdolls.
Part of the outer layer of the roof landed in the parking lot and smashed windows in two cars.
"I'm like -- this is the worst storm I have ever witnessed in my entire life," said House.
There was a lot of damage outside but luckily not much inside.
"The top roof of this building has been revamped and beautifully so, the top roof blew off, it was the new roof, underneath; the old roof still exists."
Double the protection but still quite the mess both on top and well as on the ground. But the good news: none needed for paramedics or EMT's.
"Therefore, we were not hurt. And this point no one was hurt.
Nobody was hurt and we are very thankful for that," said House.
The storm also knocked down some trees, closed some roads and kept utility crews busy restoring power.
"We have had several reports around the city, of trees down, blocking roadways, we have crews there working as well, making sure citizens stay safe," said Officer Hobie Daugherty with London Police.
Judy House says they hope to reopen the business soon, after the cleanup is done, and power is restored.
