We all know how obsessed Donald Trump is with fast food. His McDonald's order contains multiple burgers with a fountain Coke. However, he tries to eat healthy at home at his Mar-A-Lago compound in Florida. Even the doctors have suggested that he go on a healthy diet to get rid of extra weight. Thus, he has favored eating at home, provided the food is cooked well.
In the book "Mar-a-Lago: Inside the Gates of Power at Donald Trump's Presidential Palace," it is revealed how he allegedly fired a chef who made the Caesar salad. The story may or may not be true or factually correct. But the book says he confronted the chef in a very angry tone.
While the confrontation was going on he started making his own salad to show him how it's done. And the next day the chef no longer had the job. Although he found a new job at Celine Dion's home.
The story does not cover any issues with the salad, as it was well received. However, the president may have had an outburst for other reasons. Even the chef's name is unclear, but we know that Andre Rush is a former white house chef who made Trump's meals.
Rush had an opinion about Trump's food choices. He said that he could not change Trump's meals in any way. If he wanted to do that, it was a political event. So there was no way to modify his meals just like that.
When it comes to Caesar salad, they are easy to make. The dressing is about balancing lemon juice, mustard, egg yolk, and anchovies. Besides, croutons and Romaine lettuce are added, topped up with the salad dressing. So Trump may not have had an issue with the salad as any chef can whip it up. Maybe he impacted Trump's food fixation and it wasn't exactly how he needed it to be.
Whenever someone has a food fixation, they will detect even a small change in the recipe and make a fuss about it. The chef also knew about it, so we may not know what exactly the issue was. Even Trump's older butler said that he called garnishes and vegetables garbage. He wanted his steak to be without any garnishes. Another one of his fixations is to have a well-done steak with ketchup. The thought of it may repulse many people, but this is what he likes.
One more theory is applicable here. Trump used to worry about being poisoned or how some food may not be prepared hygienically. It could be that he thought the same about the salad and garnishes. This is also the reason for his obsession with the fast food chain. He says the food is prepared according to the regulations and presented neatly.
