A wildfire in the Hanover area, south of Fountain, prompted a pre-evacuation warning from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.
The alert, issued just before 5:30 p.m. Monday, advised residents living in the Cactus Creek Ranch area to be ready to leave their homes.
Just before 7:30 p.m., the sheriff's office sent an alert notifying those in the area that the pre-evacuation warning was lifted.
According to the Hanover Fire Protection District, the fire was more than a football field in size and heading east. Crews from the SoCo Wildland Team, Stratmoor Hills Fire Protection District, and Security and Fountain fire departments were assisting in fighting the blaze.
