Shreveport Apartment Complex Catches Fire Once Again

On Friday, December 20, 2024, at 5:07 PM, the Shreveport Fire Department (SFD)

received a 911 call from a passerby reporting a building on fire in the 1900 block of

Centenary Boulevard at the former Oak Meadows Apartments. Engine 7 arrived on scene within six (6) minutes and reported smoke and flames coming from the side of a

downstairs apartment unit in a two-story residential structure.

It required the efforts of thirty-two (32) firefighters operating thirteen (13) units to quickly

bring the incident under control. No injuries to any firefighters or the public were reported. This marks the third time that the SFD has responded to fire emergencies at this location.

On Tuesday, December 17th, firefighters extinguished a large fire across the

property in another building. December 19th, firefighters yet again

extinguished flames inside a third building.

The property is no longer in operation and the buildings are unsecured. As such, no utility services are connected to the buildings.

All these incidents remain under investigation by SFD Fire Investigators who are diligently working to determine the origin and cause for each fire.

Accessing this property, even using it to pass through on the way to another location, is

considered trespassing. The public is urged to practice good situational awareness when it comes to this property, or any abandoned and adjudicated properties in their

neighborhoods, and report any unauthorized access to authorities.
