Others are turning to 3D effects such as hidden LED strips, creepy crawly creatures and horns or wings to make their youngsters (or themselves) stand out from the crowd.

The time-honoured tradition of upcycling old clothes still stands in good stead, with 88% of Brits saying they will be scouring the depths of their wardrobe to repurpose old clothes for the big night.

When it comes to Halloween this year, families expect their kids to attend at least 2 parties during spooky season and believe they will spend on average, £60 on Halloween decorations and outfits. On average, Brits are expected to spend half a day (12 hours) on putting their Halloween look together.

Gen Z'ers and Millennials are prepared to spend on average a whopping £100 on their scary get ups, with nearly three-quarters (70%) of those aged under-30 stating that Halloween is their favourite time of year! A further 60% will be using social media for Halloween inspiration.
