Letter: Four more years of Brown? No -- vote for Forrest

Letter: Four more years of Brown? No -- vote for Forrest

To the editor -- Council positions are supposed to be nonpartisan. We just elect the most qualified person for the job.

The incumbent in the Yakima City Council District 6 has a problem running on his record. His last four years have been an utter failure. He has been limited to claiming credit for chip sealing our roads.

As a result, he resorts to tearing down his opponent. He says he is a proud Republican, but I have never met a Republican candidate that stands for defunding the police, slashing the budget set aside for economic growth, abolishing youth summer programs and cutting services to the elderly.

Wanting the same for the next four years that he has given us for the last four years is not an option. So, District 6, let's get our collective sanity together and vote for a change by electing Amy Forrest.

Editorials

Editorials reflect the opinion of the newspaper's editorial board and are meant to offer perspective, raise questions or advocate for change.

Though grounded in fact, editorials express opinions and are intended to spark thought and discussion.

Opinion columns:

Opinion columns represent the personal views of the writer, not the position of the newspaper.

While news articles aim to present facts without bias, opinion columns offer fact-based individual perspectives.
