Dr V Narayanan, the Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), announced here on Thursday that ISRO's future plans include work on Chandrayaan-4 and Chandrayaan-5, establishing India's own space station by 2035, and the Gaganyaan-3 mission.

On the occasion, 123 medals and awards were presented to 62 meritorious students. Narayanan, who was the Chief Guest at the event, along with Institute Director Professor Amit Patra and Registrar Sumit Kumar Biswas distributed the medals and awards to the students.
In his address, Dr. Narayanan noted that IIT (BHU) alumni are making significant contributions to industry and technology worldwide. He urged the graduates to embrace continuous learning, creativity, self-confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills, as well as assume responsibility for society.
He said that ISRO was working on Chandrayaan-4 and Chandrayaan-5, while establishing the country's own space station by 2035. Besides, there is progress on the Gaganyaan-3 mission.
Referring to India's progress since Independence, Dr. Narayanan highlighted economic growth, increased life expectancy, improved literacy, and achievements in agriculture and infrastructure. He encouraged the graduates to contribute to the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047.
He also discussed the achievements of the Indian space program, including the first rocket launch in 1963, the historic Chandrayaan and Mars Orbiter missions, the development of cryogenic rocket engines, and the successful deployment of over 133 satellites. He explained that space applications such as telecommunications, telemedicine, disaster warning, fisheries, and weather forecasting have improved the lives of citizens.
Dr. Narayanan encouraged the graduates to contribute to the Indian space sector and become partners in the nation's progress through innovation. Concluding his address, he emphasized the importance of character, gratitude, and social responsibility. He wished IIT (BHU) success in its mission of preparing future leaders and making India a developed nation.
