Over 6m Covid jabs delivered in Oxfordshire, Bucks, and Berks

More than six million vaccinations for Covid-19 have now been delivered across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, and Berkshire West by the NHS.

Health leaders are thanking NHS staff, volunteers, and partner organisations for their work to reach the milestone.

They are also encouraging eligible people to continue coming forward for vaccinations this winter, although the eligibility criteria has changed.

Sarah Bellars, chief nursing officer at the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board, said: "Delivering more than six million Covid-19 vaccinations is a fantastic achievement and reflects the dedication of NHS teams and partners right across our area.

"We are proud of the protection this programme has given to people at greatest risk.

"Covid-19 can still cause serious illness, especially for older people and those with weakened immune systems.

"We are asking people to look before you book your vaccine and help to protect yourself, your loved ones, and the NHS this winter."

Those eligible this winter include people who live in a care home for older adults and people aged six months to 74 years with a weakened immune system due to a health condition or treatment.

People who are aged 75 or older, including those who will be 75 by January 31, 2026, are also eligible.

Vaccinations can be booked through the NHS app, the national booking system, or by calling 119.
