TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revised his forecast for Apple's next-generation AirPods Pro, now predicting a launch in the second half of 2025. This marks a shift from his earlier expectation that a major update was not likely until 2026.
Kuo's latest industry survey, shared today on X, indicates that Apple plans to release the AirPods Pro 3 in the latter half of next year. In May, the analyst suggested that major AirPods updates were unlikely before 2026. The report adds an important distinction, noting that a more significant hardware upgrade -- an IR camera-equipped model -- is still anticipated for 2026. This suggests Apple may be planning a two-stage rollout for its next-generation earbuds.
The updated forecast now aligns more closely with reports from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who has also pointed to a fall 2025 release.
Alongside the timeline shift, Apple is said to be testing a model with touch controls in the case and exploring previously leaked features, including health-related sensors capable of measuring heart rate. The new Pro model is not expected to see a dramatic exterior redesign.
If accurate, AirPods Pro 3 could evolve into a more health-focused wearable while still delivering design refinements and performance improvements. We'll keep you posted as further details emerge!
