Patriots announce multiple roster moves on Friday

The New England Patriots made a series of roster moves on Friday, with the most prominent one being the release of safety Jabrill Peppers from the 53-man roster.

However, they also announced the release of guard Jack Conley from the practice squad, along with claiming defensive tackle Eric Gregory off waivers and signing tackle Thayer Munford Jr. to the practice squad.

Gregory is a former SEC defender out of the University of Arkansas. He racked up 135 total tackles, 9.5 sacks, one interception and three pass deflections in six years with the Razorbacks.

Munford was originally a seventh-round draft pick by the Las Vegas Raiders in the 2022 NFL draft. He has played in 46 NFL games with 18 starts. He has shown versatility on the line in the process, as he has started 11 games at right tackle, five games at left tackle, and two games as a tackle-eligible tight end.

The team's decision to release Peppers was obviously the most surprising. He had 26 starts, 178 tackles, 10 pass deflections, two forced fumbles and three interceptions in the three seasons he spent in New England.
