The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), Council 3190, will hold a free community health fair 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at the Stratton Community Center in Bordwell Park, 2008 Martin Luther King Blvd., Riverside.
The event is open to all, and a range of services will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Primary care services will include physician consultations, A1C testing, prescription slips, physical exams and student sports physicals, according to a news release from the League of United Latin American Citizens.
Dental services offered are cleanings, X-rays, extractions, fillings and children's teeth sealing and polishing, and eye exams will be available, with eyeglasses made and distributed on site.
Rapid testing for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis C will be available, plus a variety of vaccines.
The fair also offers mammograms, with some restrictions and with appointments preferred, and one-on-one mental health counseling sessions.
Also available will be fresh produce, canned food and new women's clothing at select times during the event.
"This health fair is a reflection of our commitment to providing accessible and equitable health care to our Riverside community," Sira Uribe, president of LULAC Council 3190 and chairman of the health fair committee, said in the news release. "We are especially grateful to our partners and volunteers who make this possible year after year."
Among the participating partners are Healing California, Riverside University Health System, The Pink Journey, Bordando Nuestras Raíces, Overflow Farms, California Department of Public Health and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 47.
Providing community support and sponsorship are Riverside County Supervisor Jose Medina, United Domestic Workers of America, Parkview Legacy Foundation, Rep. Mark Takano, United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1167, Altura Credit Union, the law office of Belén Gómez and the Inland Chinese Association.
