Aiden Funk's 3-for-3 effort on Saturday at Count Basie Park in Red Bank steered second-seeded Red Bank Catholic to an 11-1 victory over 10th-seeded Donovan Catholic in the NJSIAA Non-Public A South quarterfinals.

Funk drove in three runs and smacked two doubles, marking his eighth multi-hit game of the season, and his second three-hit performance.

The Monmouth County Tournament champions chipped away in each inning, leading to the game being finished in five frames.

RBC (19-7) scored two runs in each of the first two innings, then three more in the third, and four runs in the fourth.

Jake Frankel pieced together a 2-for-2 morning, scoring twice and delivering one RBI.

Donovan Catholic (6-14) began the season with 11 straight losses, but turned things around to pick up a win in the state tournament. They defeated Notre Dame, 3-1 on the road just hours before Saturday's game against RBC.

Stephen Malato drove in the lone run, scoring Aiden Brescia. Connor Bragg and Rocco Padula combined for three strikeouts on the mound across four innings.

The Caseys will face third-seeded St. Augustine in the sectional semifinals on June 4 at home.
